Just in Time for Jackets

Imagine sipping a cup of simmering hot cocoa, with those tiny marshmallows melting on your tongue, while you sit seductively, wearing your amazing new jacket from Balmain, just in time for Christmas sales to begin.  Hail October! Hail October!

I believe that October is the perfect time to invest in a jacket, with Fashion week just over, and a whole new season to delve in. As a result, I am extremely excited to wear my jacket, in Dreamland, as Chennai experiences summer all year round. On the contrary, I will let you in on my jacket fantasy.

The ideal jacket exudes fierce chic, but drapes sensuously around your body; just like these.

All in all, remember, as much as you lust after your boyfriends "actual" blazer, do not wear it. Now, we don't want you looking like you are wearing an oversize mammoth like potato bag. Instead, just steal it and get it tailored. After, be sure not to blame the housekeeper. We do not want a messy house, do we?

Christian V Siriano

What happens when the Sahara desert, and the Nile River intermingle with high couture; you get Christian V Siriano. You may remember him as the ruling king from Project Runway Season 4.

I believe that he is the new designer on the block, although packed with of experience, as he has interned with Vivienne Westwood, and Alexander McQueen.

His clothes take my breath away. Every time I see his clothes I experience this heavenly, tingling feeling, that travels all the way from my toes, till my head, just like what I encounter when I sink my teeth into Charbonnel et Walker chocolates. Now who can beat that?

Siriano’s clothes are totally "fierce." So, it's a shame he doesn't retail in India.

He began designing at the young age of 13, which forces me to run to my room, in comfortable Converse, and get a book and a pencil, to try and design clothes. Who knows, maybe somebody, I can be the ‘new designer on the block.’ One hour, and fifteen minutes later, I decide to stick with writing.

I am saving up to buy one of his immaculately "fierce" dresses. All my money will go in my piggy bank, labelled "Fierce Money."

My favorite piece from his Autumn/Winter collection 2009

Other key pieces form his Autumn/Winter collection 2009

Beautiful, thought provoking craftsmanship, and flawless, impeccable designs, with a hint of "fierceness" define Christian V Siriano.

Jeggings

Jeans+Leggings=Jeggings

Every time I go shopping, I can never find the ideal pair of skinny jeans, because there is always something that throws me off. Most of the time, they are too wide at the ankle, as the smallest ones have a 12 inch opening. All in all, the skinny jeans were never "skinny" enough. Till now, I had to make do with what I had. When I was really desperate, I also used double tape to make sure it "stuck" to my ankle.

But then, one magical day, I walked into a shop and I found these new kind of skinny jeans. It was like somebody was reading my mind. Basically, they were leggings made of denim. So I ran to try them on, and "Voila" they fit and felt like second skin. It hugs all the right curves, and instantly made my legs look more toned, making them look fabulous. I had Gisele's legs only with a pair of Jeggings.

I suggest that you buy at least, one in grey, black, and blue. But don't only stop there.

I am obsessed, I wear mine with everything. Every time I wear them, I feel like Cinderella, if she ever wore jeans, that is.
You should too.

Jenny Humphrey

Just like all of you, I am a Gossip Girl addict too. It gives me my dose of fashion and drama for the week, and keeps me wanting more and more every single time, that I download it without missing a beat.
This is one show where every character has a distinct style of dressing, that complements their role. You can connect Blair Waldorf to bows and headbands, something that inspired designers such as Zac Posen to create a whole line, Blair Waldorf style, head bands and all. Serena Van Der Woodsen walks around wearing Matthew Williamson, defining hippie-chic, her hair teased to go with it. But nevertheless, the character who really caught my eye is Jenny Humphrey. She transformed from little-miss-goody-two-shoes in Season 1 to I-have-a-distinct-style-without-caring-what-people-think-of-me-and-I-am-going-to-continue-doing-my-thing. She went from Golden candy girl, to rocker chic. In fact, Jenny Humphrey A.K.A Taylor Momsen has her own rock band in real life, so it is no surprise that she dresses like being in one too. Moreover, when magazines asked her about why she changed her look on set she said that she just started dressing like herself, actually.

As a result, I decided to pick out pieces to help you incorporate her look in your everyday style.
